Discovering God’s Vision for All.
Introduction
For centuries, the doctrine of eternal damnation or also known as eternal conscious torment has been etched into the very fabric of Christian faith, sowing fear, doubt, and anxiety.
It conjures up images of a vengeful deity, a fiery abyss, and souls writhing in endless torment. It's the kind of belief that when confronted in its essence gnaws at your conscience and raises difficult questions about the nature of God.
Though, Christianity and the atonement made by Jesus has made a bridge to reconcile this notion with a loving God; it fails to answer sufficiently how a God who professes to be love and desires reconciliation for all can permit the existence of endless suffering.
But what if there is another way of understanding hell and God that takes the Word of God even more seriously than we have been? What if this version brings forth life and transformation in a way we aren’t experiencing right now? What if we can unlearn the oppressive doctrine of eternal damnation and discover a theology that speaks of a God whose love knows no end, whose grace extends beyond our understanding, and whose redemptive work goes beyond religious dogma?
This series is about my own journey of seeking answers to questions that have haunted me and other believers for centuries and how I came to rethink everything I thought I knew about salvation, hell, and the divine. I’ll explore Universal Reconciliation also known as Christian Universalism, a theology that dares to challenge evangelical Protestant dogmas, a theology that speaks of a God whose love is so vast that it reaches into the farthest corners of creation.
We’ll wrestle with some of the theological intricacies and the practical implications of this hopeful perspective, and we'll confront the objections and criticisms that have been hurled its way.
But most of all, we'll discover a vision of faith that is filled with hope, curiosity, grace and the audacious belief that Love ultimately triumphs.
So, prepare to unlearn the shadows of eternal damnation
and embrace a vision of faith that is truly good news.
